Selling your script

If you have written some scripts and you are thinking about selling them then here's a few tips on how to do it. If you get it right you can make a lot of money without doing too much work but if you get it wrong you are likely to make nothing.

The problem with beginning to sell a new script is that nobody has heard of it before and so you won't you a following of people using it. Using an introductory price or even giving the first version away free is a good idea. Giving it free to testers also helps you get out any bugs and problems.

Once your script is ready, get is listed on script directories such as scriptsearch.com and hotscripts.com. This will help you get publicity for you script and get people onto your website where you can amaze them.

People will judge your script by your website so make sure it looks good. Be sure to update it regularly and post any script updates for your customers as well as news updates.

Selling your script should not be too hard. You are best starting out by using something like Paypal. Don't automate this process as if people gain access to your script straight away, and the payment falls through, they will get it for free. Best to send them an email telling them they will receive details in a few days.

Once you have a customer base and you have broken into the market, you should raise your price to the average for your type of your script. As much as over pricing will lose you customers, if you under price, people will not take you seriously. Make sure you give prompt support to emails too.

There are plenty of things to think about when selling your script but if you get it all right, you can start pulling in money.
